Title: Is this what a dying 5D shutter looks like

I have just started having an issue with my Canon %d shooting at over 1/1000.

If you look at the images, you can see what is happening. It begins at 1/1000 and gets worse till it takes over half the frame atfull speed.

anyone seen this before.

It is possible i have shot around 100,000 images with this camera but i am not sure

Yep........either shutter or mirror hanging up. Time for a service trip to Canon.
