Dear all,
I decided to concentrate on photographing trees, however, I can identify only few basic trees so at first I have to learn how to identify trees. There are many books on this topic. However, I'm looking for an electronic educational material or an electronic encyclopedia. I want to copy text and images into a Super Memo database for effective learning. I don't want to retype text and scan images from a paper book. I live in Czech Republic but I think a general guide or a North America guide to tree identification will be fine for me. The material must be in English.
Please, could anybody give me a hint? Than you very much.

Can't help you with an electronic guide, but when I was studying dendrology (tree identification) in school, our tests required us to get 9/10 right to pass - except for the last test, which was 23/24 right to pass. I can identify several hundred species by sight, so if you have any general questions, please feel free to send me a personal message through this site and I'll do what I can to answer them.

You're quite correct! I was just passing on information from a librarian friend of mine who provided the links. I'll let her know to let the owner of the site know to update his links... my apologies for that.

A quick google search for "tree identification software" gave me the following links that look promising:

I cannot however comment on the quality of software. Beware that a few other pages linked from the same google search actually point to what look like malware download sites.

Oh, dendrology! It's a much better keyword to search for instead of tree identification :-).
