Title: Z3100 HP Printer Utility
Post by: David Budd on May 19, 2007, 01:40:32 am
I received my Z3100 printer (44inch) yesterday.

I have installed the driver software and also updated the printer firmware to version 5.0.2

When  I open the HP Printer Utility> HP Color Center there are only two option available- Calibrate your Display and HP Printing Knowledge Center.

The options for creating, ICC Profile, Install ICC profile and Manage Missing Paper are missing.

I have uninstalled and re-installed the software twice

I have also downloaded the latest HP Utility version 2.8.0 from the HP web site but this has not solved the problem either

Attached screen shots explain the situation more fully

I had also a problem with Color Center and the connection to the printer (WinXP + Ethernet).
There were several HP Standard TCP/IP Port installed on my machine. After deleting the unused ports the Color Center was able to connect to the printer.

If you downloaded and installed the driver early last week the raster (PCL3) driver was not installing by deafault and could be causing your issue.

After you double cklick on the installer select the drop down that says Easy Install and Select Custom.  In the custom list select the raster driver and then install.

The new driver posted to the web has this already corrected.

Thanks for all your suggestions

I downloaded the latest driver R5.0.2 for Mac today and did a complete re-install

The missing options in the HP Print Utility are now visible
