Title: Why is the retrospective numbered?
Post by: clearviewphotography on May 16, 2007, 11:07:23 am
After watching the LLVJ16 interview with Brooks Jensen, and how Michael was impressed by the method Brooks uses to "number" his prints, I was a bit surprised to find that the new Retrospective books are a signed and numbered limited edition.

Michael, it'd be interesting to hear your thoughts on why you decided to go the signed/numbered route instead of the "first edition, first printing" route for the books.

Oh, and for those that didn't see the video and don't know what I'm talking about, you can read the approach Brooks takes to numbering at http://www.brooksjensenarts.com/What%20Siz...e%20Edition.pdf (http://www.brooksjensenarts.com/What%20Size%20is%20the%20Edition.pdf).

My prints are always open editions. My books and portfolios are always limited.

That's just the way I like to do things. I could give a longer explanation, and likely will in some future article.
