Post by: daniel voges on May 16, 2007, 09:27:11 am
I have the z3100, want to download the latest driver which one should I use.
I do not have the Z3100 PS.
The drivers listed are:

HP Designjet Z3100 Series HP GL/2 Driver    60.63.42.0
20 Dec 2006    12.8    56K: 31m

HP Designjet Z3100 Series Raster Driver    60.63.42.0
20 Dec 2006    19.6    56K: 47m

HP Designjet Z3100 Series HP-GL/2 Driver Installer    60.63.42.0
12 Dec 2006    64.3    56K: 2h

HP Designjet Z3100 Series Raster Driver Installer    60.63.42.0
12 Dec 2006    71.1    56K: 2h

I assume it is the GL/2 but am not 100% sure.

Actually, I believe that the GL/2 driver is to support an optional feature, you should install the raster driver

HP Designjet Z3100 Series Raster Driver Installer 60.63.42.0

Will be the better choice. It's only the raster driver for non optional language kits and or the Postscript option. I use both the raster and the Postscript drivers on my PS printer. The raster driver is more efficient for printing as it does more on the host before sending. Best to have a fast computer , with Gigabit Ethernet is even better.
