Title: "Plese wait while library is upgraded"
Post by: kayakron on May 01, 2007, 07:32:14 am
I just purchased LR and then installed the demo version while waiting for delivery of the CD.

Whenever I try to launch LR I get a message saying “LR needs to update the format of its library file.”  Next comes a window saying “Please wait while your Lightroom library is upgraded.  Your original library has been backed up.”  I also get a message saying this may take awhile.

Then the system seems to freeze.  I’ve let the “update” run overnight to no avail.  I’ve searched this forum and Adobe’s help pages but can find nothing on it.  I’ve tried reinstalling LR and get the same results.

I’m running it on a 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Mac with 2GB of RAM.

Any tips and/or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Well, I seem to have located the problem.  I deleted the lightroom.plist file from within the preferences folder, reinstalled LR yet again,  and everything is working fine now.
