Title: R1800 thick paper setting
Post by: pixel wrangler on April 05, 2007, 01:11:08 am
Ciao Tutto;

Did a quick search and didn't find an answer, and the Epson manual really isn't much help. When exactly should I invoke the thick paper setting on my R1800? The Epson manual mentions a few Epson papers, but does not specify a weight above which I should activate the setting. Or if it does, I missed it.

I plan on using papers like Hahnemüle's Bright White Photo Rag and William Turner, both 310gsm, and maybe some Museum Etching (350gsm.)

Also, any suggestions for a heavier glossy paper, since this printer makes really nice glossies. I ran a couple tests using some Ilford Galerie and they look great.

Thanks.

Take a look of the screen shot I have created for doing the thick paper setting.

Thanks for the reply, but I guess I didn't state my question clearly. I know HOW to select the thick paper setting; WHEN do I use it?

It would be nice if the Espon manual said something like, "above xxxgsm weight papers select the thick paper setting."

Thanks again.
