Title: Library creation question
Post by: Xeris on March 10, 2007, 01:17:14 pm
I am looking for a way to create my libraries (databases?) and place them on a drive other than my Windows boot drive (C:). I have tried holding down the Alt key when starting Lightroom but I get a "Lightroom Properties" dialog panel that as far as I can tell has no option to create libraries.

I have also tried holding down the Ctrl and Shift keys as well as many combinations of those 3 keys as I can think of and I still never get to a dialog to create new database.

Can someone please explain the process I need to follow to create the new databases on another drive like I am as dumb as a bag of hammers?

I am running XP Pro with Service Pack 2 and all current updates.

You're probably hitting Alt too early. Click the icon, and press Alt immediately afterwards.

Alternatively, go into Preferences, General tab, and When starting up use this library - change to Prompt me.

You can also move the library in Explorer - just cut and paste. Then double click the lrdb file to start LR.
