Title: Importing from iPhoto
Post by: Jeremy Roussak on March 03, 2007, 04:00:16 am
Hi,

I have my shiny new box with a copy of LR inside. I also have a few thousand shots in my iPhoto library, organised into hierarchies of albums and given lots of keywords.

If I import them into LR (since I obviously want to stop using iPhoto and change to LR), am I going to have to redo the organisation and assign the keywords manually again? Or is there some way in which I can copy at least the keywords across? I'm reasonably fluent in AppleScript, which I think will let me get access to them from iPhoto, but LR doesn't seem particularly scriptable.

Help!

Jeremy

You are right LR is not scriptable.

Thanks - there's something there to get started, at least. I suspect I'll end up using the switch to force a wholesale review of the library, though.
