Title: Managing two libraries

I have tried to search this question, and apologies in advance as I am sure this has already been answered.
 I haveLightroom on my laptop for use on a photo shoot and then when I arrive at home I transfer my photos to the desk top computer which has the second copy of lightroom.
Will Lightroom recognize the previous keywording etc. that I have done on the laptop?
