I have a problem with keywords and synonyms in the Develop module of Lightroom (v 1.0).
The issue is that Lightroom doesn't perform searching (by keywork) with synonyms, it always return no result.
Here's an example to illustrate what I try to accomplish: I add "Florence" as a new keywork and in the synonym text box I enter "Firenze" (the italian name). Then, I enter "Florence" in the keyword field of all my images. I would expect that searching for "Firenze" would retrieve all the images tagged with "Florence" but it doesn't work.
Did I misunderstand the way synonyms work?

Seems Adobe misunderstood the way keywords should work. Works the same way for me. Very disappointing. Also, if the list of keywords is exported as a text file, the synonyms are missing.
In general, this seems very much a version 1, and one that was rushed out the door. Poor documentation, features such as Search and the Metadata Browser that aren't well thought out, some odd bugs, ....
Very sloppy. Not worth $US 200.
