Title: Making the transfer to v 1.0
Post by: Giedo on February 06, 2007, 04:21:19 am
I'm certain to buy the new version 1.0 of LR, but I'm also afraid what will happen to my current shoots, collection, tags, etc.
I built my own image library with the beta version and I like it like it is. Do I have to start over again?

Who knows what to expect with LR v 1.0?

When you transfer all the folders will come in flat. If you then hit + in folders and select the TOP LEVEL folder of the physical library, Lightroom will match the folder structure.
It will also create a collection that matches the current Shoot hierarchy.
Tags, keywords etc remain. Can't remember about collections, but I think they do.
It may be worth making a video showing the transfer.
