I never thought I'd be into taking portrait photographs of people, but more and more it is becoming an interest.
I'm now looking for a very good instructional book, and was wondering if anybody had any recommendations?

I am not a portrait photographer but [a href=\"http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0817442278/]this book by Michael Grecco[/url] (who IS) is getting many strong positive comments, deservedly so in my opinion.

Purchased, and awaiting delivery.
Thanks Ken
Also, judging by the price and the review, this one looks quite good:

A month ago I purchased Skin: The complete Guide to Digital Lighting, Phoographing and Retouching Faces and Bodies (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/047004733X/ref=pd_cp_b_title/102-2142981-1292133) by Lee Varis. If you need to "enhance" or correct (give them a more natural look) your portraits, then you may find it useful.

The Best of Dean Collins on Lighting Not cheap on 4 DVDs.
I have used Collins' video tapes and had the pleasure of his personal instruction. He was a master photographer and teacher and his DVDs should be worth the price. They cover not only portrait lighting but products as well.
