Title: Epson 3800 Status Monitor necessary?
Post by: bmad on January 22, 2007, 04:18:44 pm
I uninstalled  Status Monitor for my 2200 years ago. (Running Windows XP)Caused problems; realized I didn't need it. (Blinking lights on teh 2200 would warn me when cartridge was running low on ink. ) Whenever I install Epson printer software, I only install the driver. Wondering if I can get away with just the 3800 printer driver.

Does the 3800 need Status Monitor?

I see that  Remote Panel Utility can update the firmware. Can it perform maintenance tasks that the utility that is part of the driver can not?
