Title: Photo Printer for Enthusiast
Post by: Wbuik on January 13, 2007, 08:36:56 pm
Does anyone have any thoughts on the Canon PIXMA Pro9000 (http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelDetailAct&fcategoryid=117&modelid=12892) as a enthusiast photo printer?  How does it compare with other > 4 ink color printers and does it really result in a large increase in the color gamut of the prints.  I'm not really looking for lab quality prints, but a high end photo printer?  Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks in advance,
  -WBuik

I´ve have been using this printer in 2 months now and am extremely pleased. Canned profiles work great with Canon papers (especially PRO-range). With properly calibrated monitor you´ll get the same "results" on paper. The printer is easy to set-up and ergonomics are great. The quality of prints (subjectively) is much better than from my old Epson 2100 (with Cathy´s profiles and Epson papers) and the speed is stunning! All in all - great buy, worth every penny!
