Title: And yet another smoke shot

Given the upsurge in smoke/fog related images, I thought I'd jump in. You're looking at a line of firefighter climbing a ridge to battle a fire just on the other side. Constructive comments/critiques welcome as usual.

Nice image.

If it were up to me, I'd crop out the blank sky at the top.  The light color causes me to glance up there to see nothing.  The light ray source is very good at helping to draw my eyes to the bright sun spot.  And of course, I would positon the sun spot at approximatley the thirds location.

Another great shot, Johnathan, although I'd agree with Howie about removing the white sky at the top.  Maybe something like this?

Mike.

Nice. Is there a black point in there anywhere, it could add more impact.

The very dark green to black trees in the foreground could provide some "black."  I think it helps hide the firefighters a bit.
