Post by: phildog33 on December 17, 2006, 12:53:00 pm
Has anyone noticed that in CS3 in the IMPORT menu, their scanner has disappeared??

It is still in the same place for importing my scans in CS2 but in CS3 i cant find a way to import scans from my MF film into the program...

with out first using CS2, jsut for the driver.

This happened to me when I upgraded from CS to CS2  I think you need to tell CS3 where to find it  (or reinstall pointing to the correct folder)
I am sure computer savvy photograpers here can tell us both how to do this.

(actually I needed to scan something this week and it was not on the menu for CS2 and I loaded up CS and it was still there so I just used CS for the project this time)

Just reinstall your scanner and allow to point to CS3. The scanner software must be installed after to be recognized.

PowerPC plugins will not work in CS3 if it's running as a native Intel app. You can check the "Open in Rosetta" box and it may then work, but the whole app will of course be slower.

C Franson, you got it! thank you.

if anyone notices the same problem.. the fix is...

go to Applications>>Adobe Photoshop CS3>>Adobe Photoshop icon

Apple-I for get info and then check box for OPEN with Rosetta

once checked, you will see your scanner/peripheral in the IMPORT menu in the photoshop program

thanks CFranson!,
