Hi,
I'm new to this board and I have a problem. I'm the lab manager at an art school. We have three R2400's and recently within a week of each other lost two of them. Both rather unexpectedly dispayed the following. The paper and ink lights began blinking and the power light went dark.
Opening the epson printer utililty and clicking on any of the options, check status etc. the message is displayed that parts inside the printer have exceeded their life span and need to be replaced. Please see yur documentation. My manual says nothing. unfortunalty due to the structure of our school only our It department can contact Epson. Has anyone run across this problem?

It sounds like the excess ink pads are full on your printer. These pads collect all the ink that is used when performing head cleanings, and overspray when printing borderless.
This error message usually means you should have the pads replaced. There is a way you can reset the printer and trick it into thinking they have been replaced, but you risk creating a major mess if the pads are actually full, as the ink will overflow into the bottom of the printer and whatever it is sitting on.
