I am always commenting on others' work, so I will put a piece that I am having problems with up:

I wonder if people could give their general reaction to this image, specifically, whether it comes across as too symetrical, or as lop-sided, given the position of the sun and its reflection.

Hi Larkvi,
Thanks for posting. I love the tones and colors.
I am not disturbed by the symmetry vertical, but feel a certain lack of balance in the left to right direction. The image feels like it is tilted to the right.

Bernard

The last person I showed it to also thought it looked like it was about to fall over because the right is so comparitively empty. I have yet to find an acceptable solution, which makes the image feel balanced.

It looks very good to me. In this particular case, the top-to-bottom symmetry works very well. After reading the previous comment, however, I also got the feeling of its being slightly tilted to the right. I also feel like it would work a little better if the moon were slightly closer to the center (left-to-right) than it is.
Those are minor quibbles, however. It's a beautiful photo.
