Title: Underexposed Phase files
Post by: Willow Photography on December 01, 2006, 05:30:09 pm
I have a P30 and when I import files into Lightroom or use ACR as
converter of the RAW files, they are 1.5 - 2 stops underexposed.

Today when I used C1, I also noticed that the previews are also underexposed before/while
they are processed.

When they ( previews ) are processed they look fine.

Do other Phase users observ the same?

Nope.  I have a P30 and I'm not seeing this underexposure problem.

not underexposed, but cut off on the bottom (or side)...about 15% of the file is missing...this is in Lightroom....i already posted on the lightroom forum and there is a post in this forum as well about it...

What ISO are you shooting? I have noticed that if shot at a higher iso than the lowest of my p25 the file will be underexposed the same amount when opened in ACR.

Sounds like you might have corrupted thumbnails and/or previews. Try deleteing them and let Capture One rebuild them

I am shooting 100 ISO.

And this is previews / thumbnails that are being created for the first time by C1.

I will do some more tests tomorrow.

when I tested the P30 and P45 backs..I had the same problem...underexposed files and very bad colors...BUT when I opened the files...they were perfect...the thumbnail previews are just of a very bad quality!! Open up the file and you will see a perfect image

does anyone have the same problem with the bottom cut off? this is with P30 files....LR is very good about reading my thumbnails, i can make changes in C1 and import, the look very good, they process very, very good (surprisingly good actually) but useless becuase they are cropped....

I have used the P25 and P45 with neither underexposure or bottom cut-off.

This sound like an obvious thing, but check your brightness on your digital back.
It's just like having your gamma off on your computer screen.
