Title: longevity of inks on the canon ipf5000

once the inks are installed in the printer, how long can they stay in the printer without causing problems.

I was wondering about this too.  Haven't seen anything about this topic anywhere while researching the FAQ.

Probably until they are empty.

If you think about it, these inks are supposed to last at least 100 years after they are exposed to air, and even though the companies want you to believe otherwise, I suspect inside the ink cart the ink would last much longer than your printer would so not to worry. Pigment inks do settle though, so if they are in there for a long time it is a good idea to remove the carts and shake them up a bit.
