Title: SanDisk IV Extreme
Post by: method on November 24, 2006, 11:28:25 am
Hi
I have recently got an Extreme IV card with a FW 800 reader and found it to be extremely fast. But an even faster transfer occurs with the Delkin Express Card 34 reader.

Which will fit into a MacBook Pro (15 and 17")

The Delkin could use a case, but it is very useful!

Since the FW 800 reader is an external FireWire device, it naturally has to be on the outside.

ExpressCard/34 is a standard replacing PC-Card (AKA PCMCIA, People Cannot Memorize Computer Industry Acronyms), so the Delkin will fit into the ExpressCard/34 slot on a new MacBook Pro. I'm not sure about compatibility, but check Delkin's web pages.

I know that!!!

I am saying I have both - a FW 800 card reader (for my desktop) and a Delkin Express card for my MacBook Pro.

The Firewire 800 reader is very fast. But the Delkin is super fast.

cheers

Aha, I read your sentence "Which will fit into a MacBook Pro (15 and 17")" as a question without a question mark, rather than an incomplete sentence.

Sorry.

This is definately what my tests are showing. An EX IV card in an EX IV reader is almost twice as fast as the same card in the Delkin.

I'll have my test online later this week.
