It is still my favorite printer. Mine is however collecting dust as I have so much testing to do on the Z series HP's and continuing 9180 testing.
The 130 never needs any cleaning. Even after being off for months there are no cleaning cycles needed. Clogs just do not happen, ever.
The fade resistance is in the same running as Epson pigments on color but only on the HP Satin or Glossy swellable polymer media.
The gamut is around right for photo repro. The prints are closer to a darkroom than any other printer I know. And it runs at about half the cost of an Epson 4800, if 110ml carts.
The ip5000 is a higher gamut true pro printer as much so as a 4800. The 130 isn't designed to do much more than photo repro on roll or sheet. For a vast media choice pigment printers are required.
The samples I have from the 5000 are not very good but I saw prints from John Huba at PPE that were really top notch. The only thing Canon should have done is put a gloss enhancer in.

Your travel sounds like mine. I did a two week shoot in Paris in Oct and just returned from two weeks in Australia. Each time I returned to the studio, I just turned on the iPF5000 and started printing. NO nozzle issues or any other problems at all. Not a single nozzle clog. I could never have done that with my Epson machines.
I have to admit that the HP's sound very good too. And maybe the new Epsons will be great. But at the present moment, the Canon is working very well for me. For what its worth...
