Is this correct, H3D-22 new (camera. lens and back kit) for $21,994.95 @ BH??
Is this camera/back multi shot capable also?
Sounds like a good deal. Im on the MFDB fence right now, basically between phase p21+ or P30+ and a H1 and the Hasselblad H3D-22, the 39 is a longshot.
Havent read/heard much about the P21 but people seem to like the p30 a lot. The hasselblad camera/back combos are still a mystery to me since little is posted about their performance but what i have read has been positive.

To be brief, Hasselblad makes excellent stuff as does Phase, Leaf, etc. They all have their idiosycasies, but by and large they're all great despite what you might read here - the individual mfr's software and it's subtlties of rendering the image is an obvious difference among them, and of course Hasselblad has the only integration of camera, lens and back - a final deciding factor for me. The only REAL way for you to make an informed choice is to test, test, test. I spent over a month testing before deciding and it still wasn't a clearcut choice.
The H2D-22 is NOT multishot. None of the D series cameras are. You would need to buy a CF-22MS or a CF-39MS. They are self-powered backs that use a Sony type LI battery (or Hasselblad's Image Bank) and will fit on numerous cameras other than Hasselblad, that is MF and View type. In my estimation the 22mp MS back (which can do 4 or 16 shot) has an edge over the 39mp single shot, but things can't be movin' around and floors can't be shakin' with the MS backs.

Hi Ken
Some people who are using Hasselblad with other backs have been inconvienced, because it is hard to upgrade, but as a newcomer to MFDB it's hard to overlook this new H system.
If you compare this system to any other on the market for file quality, handling, price, service, compatibiliy and software, it is very hard to beat. Untill Sinar, Phase and Rollei get it together to bring out their new system, will there be anything to compare, but who knows when that'll happen.

I was talking to a Hasselblad rep today at PhotoPlus Expo. He quoted exactly the same
price as you mentioned for the H3D-22 kit (and $29k for the H3D-39 kit). These are not
multi-shot backs.
Like you, I'm shopping for a MFDB and camera system. What I didn't know about the
Hasselblad/Imacon backs is that they can be used on view cameras. That is, they don't
need electronic communication with the camera to take a picture. The rep also quoted
30 frames per minute as the top speed of the back. Nevertheless, I'm still leaning more
toward Leaf and Phase for the back, since I'd like higher ISO's and more frames per minute.
But, the price of the Hasselblad system is very tempting...
