Another sunset over Lake Superior with the sun in shape of an apple
-
Nice shot.
(But it doesn't have the bite out of the side! ;D )
-
Perfect sunset… We don't get to see that often in the Alps.
-
It has a sense of simplicity, but there's actually a lot going on. It's just so well balanced and proportioned that it just works perfectly.
-
Very nice mate

Thank you, Eric, Francois, Phil and Neill
Here is another shot from the same location, just turned the camera 90 degrees to the left

Nice one.

Great shot...We often forget to look around at what the sunset is illuminating, rather than just the setting sun. We CAN have it all!

Yes, and that sunset light at 90 or 180 to the sunset is so nice a lot of the time!
Both nice photos! Our smoky skies produce red sunsets like that now too.

The first one is nice. I think it'd be better if you cropped out some on the right side.
-
Thank you, Bob, for the suggestion.
I made two crops. Any better than the original?
-
My first choice is the original, and second choice is the centered one.
-
I like the cropped versions better. Still, I'm not sure the cropping is correct.

I'm with Eric and Phil, I prefer the original version.

Thank you, Eric, Phil, Francois and Bob. It was a good exercise.
I like also best the original version, but the vertical crop changes the overall look and feel, and could be preferrable for a book cover or even a decorative art print on a certain type of wall. On the other hand, the cropped version could be used for an online blog or even inside a book. We have proven that every crop would appeal to someone and the main criteria is how that image would be used.
