Title: Art Restoration at Its Finest
Post by: JoeKitchen on June 27, 2018, 08:28:24 pm
Off the political stuff for the time being, here is a funny/sad story on art restoration.

Spain Church Restoration (https://www.cnn.com/style/article/spanish-church-restorer-st-george-intl-trnd/index.html)

I really need to ask, why would you think an art club is a good choice to restore a centuries old painting?  And if you are in an art club asked to do this, how full of hubris do you need to be to actually think you are qualified?

That restoration is really abominable. Also incredible that somebody could butcher it to such a degree.
