Post by: davidgp on June 19, 2018, 03:49:24 am
Hi,

Adobe Creative Cloud just showed an update to Lightroom, I thought I just missed to install 7.3.1 but to my surprise, it is Lightroom 7.4 version, I can not find what it is new... but I suppose blogpost about it will start appearing shortly...

Regards,

David

About the normal number of features for a dot release. Probably the one that people will most welcome is the ability to hide built-in presets and profiles.

I'm not seeing a fix for the "Hanging, requires force quit (https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/lightroom-classic-cc-7-3-and-7-3-1-hanging)" issue in the feature summary, but according to Rikk Flohr it is fixed.  We'll see.

So far my impression is that Lr Classic CC 7.4 is snappier than its predecessors.  I always welcome performance improvements.

Colour labels for folders. Not sure how I would use that. The search function that was launched with the last update was useful as I save commercial jobs by folder.

This I think it is the most useful to me... I have my folders classified by days... basically each day it landscape photographs of a place... I have a workflow, selection, basic editing, metadata, final edition, in some time second pass... I can put a label to each one of those phases by color... a quick view will tell me if I finished with those pictures or what it is missing...

That’s is what I like about LR. I find the stuff I like and ignore the rest. Glad it works for you David.

It would be really nice if Adobe had fixed the disappearing side-panels issue which for me, in 7.3.1, has been becoming increasingly prevalent making it almost impossible to work for any length of time without restarting Lightroom.

I don't see a fix listed in the bug fixes in this release.

There's a bug (or a poor design) whereby if you delete a user preset, Undo doesn't work. That wasn't the case in Version 5. Not sure how long this bug has been in CC, but it's certainly in 7.4 and ACR.  ???

That doesn't seem to be a bug.  I just checked and a requester popped up that says that "deleting a preset is not undoable".  You might have clicked the 'do not show again' checkbox at some point.
