Title: Twilight Crush
Post by: maddogmurph on June 12, 2018, 02:20:20 am
Slowly getting around to thousands of backlogged photos. This one is another example of why I'm in undying love with astro twilight. Just drag that shutter and watch the magic happen.

Very appealing. What exactly do you mean by "astro twilight"?

Lovely image. I suppose he means:

"Astronomical twilight is the darkest of the 3 twilight phases. It is the earliest stage of dawn in the morning and the last stage of dusk in the evening."

Whatever.
In any case, it's a great catch.

Astronomical twilight occurs when the Sun is between 12 degrees and 18 degrees below the horizon. Astronomical dawn is the time when the geometric center of the Sun is at 18 degrees below the horizon. Before this time, the sky is absolutely dark.

Agreed. Gorgeous image. Makes me want to lose sleep.

The cool light that comes before (morning) and after (evening) the warm light.  :D  Presuming a mostly clear sky.

Definitely a reason to stick around after observing is over (or wake up early). This is really lovely.

I am enlightened. Thanks. It's a sad day when I don't learn something new.
