Title: Winter Orchids: Leptotes bicolor
Post by: Bob_B on March 13, 2018, 04:51:54 pm
Leptotes bicolor is a miniature species native to Brazil. This plant typically blooms in the summer, but it recently surprised me by putting out 8 or so buds. This flower (ca 3/4" diameter) opened two days ago.

Nice image.

When I lived in Florida, I became interested in photographing orchids. Some counties/towns have active orchid societies. ...good way to get access to exotics.

More than nice, I like the red petal… it looks like a tongue. Framing is bit tight but I like it that way.
