Really enjoying my trip to two wonderful National Parks and a host of other locations along the way.
This evening I made a late decision to leave highway 395 and head up to the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest. Ths was one hell of a journey driving up the twenty odd miles to an altitude of around 10,000 feet and temperature of 12F/-11C. With the fierce wind chill factor, it was extremely cold and I only managed to stay about twenty minutes around sunset.
Looking forward to an early start tomorrow from Lone Pine to Death Valley for a couple of nights.

Very nice Bristlecone.
You'll get to warm up in Death Valley.
Sounds like a great trip: Yosemite, the Bristlecones, then DV.
