Tried doing a search on this lens and didn't find anything. Perhaps I'm not using the search function properly and if I've missed something I apologize for wasting everyone's time.
I'm considering this lens but it's a fair chunk of change and I'd appreciate anyone's feedback. I would be using it on a D810 primarily for landscape/nature work and am particularly interested in feedback on edge and corner sharpness.

It is simply the very best zoom lens I have ever shot with, bar none, and I review/test lenses as part of my job!

+1
a very good zoom especially better in the corners when compared to the previous VRII model.
Better coatings, cooler color. Expensive with a reason.

Here is a review you may find helpful: http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/70-200mm-f28-fl.htm. I have often consulted Ken Rockwell's website.
I don't have any experience with this lens.

This lens is incredibly good.
It is the only zoom lens I consider to be in Otus territory image qualitywise.
The AF is also super fast (super tele like), VR is top notch.
You simply cannot go wrong.

Compared to a fixed focal like the Sigma 85mm art i find it less good especially at f2.8 and f16
At 70 mm at infinity it is not so good i find and it has field curvature

I thank you all for your replies. It's very kind of you.
Yes, I appreciate both the Sigma 85 and 135 but as I get older I find myself getting lazier and I'd prefer to be able to cover that 70-200mm range with only one lens instead of a battery of primes.
I'd studied many reviews and the MTF's on the Nikon before posting my question here but still felt a little hesitant. Based on your responses I ordered the lens today.
Again, my thanks for your attention.

Just to follow up. I purchased this lens and I'm very happy with it. As Bernard noted, the AF is fast and accurate and the color is very much to my liking. No regrets on this one.
