A notice for PRO-1000 users. The printer reports new firmware version 2.060 is on the server.
-
It does, but I can’t find any information (release notes) on what it changed? Not on Canon USA site as far as I can tell.

Unfortunately. The installer on the support sites which includes information on the updates is stuck at version 2.2 which installs firmware 2.040. When version 2.050 was released the installer wasn't updated. Let's hope that it will be updated now.

Wrote to Canon Europe a few days ago. But did not receive an answer yet. I think everybody owning this printer should write to Canon. Otherwise they will not react :(
-
Through their webpage or do you have a direct mail address for Canon EU support, which I’d like to have?
-
I made it through their webpage.
There’s a thread in the German fineartprinter forum, where I could convince another guy to write. But still no answer.

I just upgraded yesterday while talking to a Canon rep. The easiest way is to have the Pro-1000 connected to Wi-Fi, then on the printer menu select Various Settings, then Device settings, scroll down to Firmware update. It will go search for the correct firmware and down load it. Takes about 5 minutes.
Hope this helps.

In the German forum one guy got an answer from Canon:
„If you have installed 2.040 or higher, there is no need for an update.“
-
From Canon:
2.050: Change Google TLS Certificate [Google Cloud Printing, GCP]
2.060: To improve the security of Firmware Update/Printer Update Utility

The printer reports new firmware 2.070. I didn't install it yet. I cannot find any info on what it adds/fixes. Also there is a new version (1.04) of the driver (and the XPS driver) with the following information:
[Ver.1.04]
- The failure that may cause installation failure is modified.
- Name of the tray at rear side has been changed.
The "Rear Tray" now it's called "Top Feed".

Hello.
My printer updated to 2.070 this morning.
The UK Canon site states firmware updated on 21st Sept with these changes:
"[Ver.2.2] - macOS Mojave (10.14) has been added as a supported OS. - macOS High Sierra (10.13) has been added as a supported OS. - Optimization of the specifications of Chroma Optimizer ink used in the auto maintenance."
- hopefully this heralds a reduction in maintenance tank (CO) use.
Cheers

Unfortunately the version 2.2 installer installs firmware 2.040. It's old. They updated the Mac version only probably to be compatible with the changes in the Mac OS. The Win version is from 2017.
