Title: More Ice Dreams
Post by: Bob_B on January 12, 2018, 01:25:49 pm
Another set from a recent visit to a frozen lake, with a slightly different theme. Your thoughts and comments are welcomed. Thank you for viewing.

That last one is an absolute and utter price winner. It's got that untold story with layers of meaning, metaphore, and unspeakable emotion that every photographer should want to capture at least once in a lifetime.

Print it big, hang it on a wall where you can see it frequently so one is reminded of what ripples we leave in this world for other people to notice.

Triple A+, this one will likely top my list of best pictures of 2018 for a while!

Oscar was faster with typing; the 3rd really is exceptional.

(Besides I just ask myself, how that could happen, still don't understand really, but this mystery adds to the outstanding picture.)

Yep, #3 is a good 'un!

Many years ago I was swimming in Lake Michigan during the summer with a cousin. At one point I felt something bump up against my back and thought it was her (my cousin). But when I turned & looked it was a seagull, slightly submerged and drifting with the current. I'd bet the situation was similar with this bird.

Another vote for #3, with #1 in next place.

I personally like no-1, the minimalist, grey and white and tranquil. Brings out the beauty in the desolation.

Thanks John. Due to its tonal qualities, I also like the first photo.
