Title: Newly Sluggish Adjustment Brush with Latest LR CC Classic
Post by: John Caldwell on December 28, 2017, 02:47:11 am
In particular when Wacom tablet used as adjustment brush, it's as though the system struggles to keep up with brush strokes unless "brush" movements are very slow and few. This began on two of our systems with the latest LR update, yet interestingly the Wacom tablet continues to work crisply with newest Photoshop version.

Only one of our systems shows the prior good brush behavior, despite having also been updated to the current "Adobe Lightroom Classic [1148620]". While all three of these systems are iMac running OS X 10.11.6 with loads of RAM, the single system that runs "normally" wrt adjustment brush behavior connects to the LR Catalog (external) drive via Firewire 800, while the two sluggish systems connect to those same external Catalog drives via USB. USB is being shared with mouse, keyboard and Wacom.

So this may be a USB limitation, but even if true, this is absolutely new behavior. The system changes are, near as I can tell, limited to the LR version update.

Can you imagine any reason LR would place some sort of bottleneck in the USB chain?

Welcoming all suggestions and speculation with appreciation.
