So here's the scoop. Before Christmas, I finally entered the smartphone era (only a landline and an iPad previously) with an iPhone 8 Plus as the camera seems to have improved significantly, especially with the two lens-camera - 28mm and 56mm - and there is a raw file (dng) option with the excellent CameraPro app.
Here are some comparison images for how I created the landscape over on the Landscape Showcase (http://forum.luminous-landscape.com/index.php?topic=122353.0) thread.
The photo shown is not full-frame but a crop to 2999x1678 pixels. Processed in LR (6.10 standalone). Data is shown on the fourth attachment - a screenshot of Lightroom Before/After
