I looked into Corel Painter and I find it too complicated and too time consuming. Is there any other software thats easier to learn and get DECENT results. Thank you
P.S. I am not a user of PS just LR.

I’m also a fan of Topaz plug-ins / Studio. I’d add their “Symplify” to the list also. I use the two in combination sometimes depending on where I want to go with an image.

The user interface is nice, and they have loads of presets that make for an easy starting point (and often for me the ending point as well!).
Best,

Topaz Impression
+1 . I use Topaz Impression often. Very easy, "painting" process is relatively quick, with many styles and presets.
A while ago, I wrote a short review with some examples on my site:

Dynamic Auto Painter (http://www.mediachance.com/dap/) is also worth a look.

If you want to paint photographs you print them then using something like Marshall's Oils or pencils, you actually paint them.
Doing it on a computer is not painting no matter how much the ad liars tell you it is.
