Title: Topaz Impression Plugin - New Version On Sale
Post by: LesPalenik on September 19, 2017, 01:10:43 pm
Topaz Labs is offering for limited time their new and updated Impression painting plugin at 40% off - $59.99 instead of $99.99.
Topaz Impression helps you turn photos into paintings by applying brushstrokes to canvas.

Here is the link to dowload Impression examples or a free evaluation version (30 days) of the program:

I posted last year an example of this filter on a motorcycle image:

It ia way better now very fast.   It was doggedly slow on eighty megapixel files

Here is an image processed by Impression. I have a 30x40 canvas wrap I did and it
looks 3D and textural.  Twisted reality is often better than a straight image.

Hi Doug,

Nothing wrong with adding some abstraction. Impression allows tweaking the final output to personal taste a lot, thus avoiding a generic software look. In general, it does benefit from source images that were taken with a painterly look in mind, not as an afterthought. Some preprocessing with Studio Abstraction can help.

Nice image.

Cheers,
Bart

It's a fun plugin.  Almost, almost, makes me into an artist. :)

Version 1.5.3 is current as of this writing, but there are 1 or 2 updates per week at this stage of development.

Just select "Check For Updates" under the Help menu, and it will tell you if there is an update, and
"Change Log" will tell you what's changed (and that the release of 1.5.4 is 'Coming soon!' and 1.6.0 is also not far behind).

Cheers,
Bart
