Doesn't give me an appetite at all; I distrust bright coloured food and "funny" photo techniques - at least insofar as my stomach is concerned.
The worst example I've encountered of something colourful was, of all places, in a hotel in one of the little château towns along the Loire. I elected to try a sweet that had a peppermint content. Actually, I think it contained the entire peppermint supply of that kitchen: it couldn't be eaten. Ruined the otherwise delightful courses that went before. What were they thinking - tourists' kids?
Good food is for the tummy, not the monitor. But then maybe I've been spoiled most of my life - I've experienced one MaDonald's - in Florida - and never set foot in any of the other chains. Short of in extremis, why would one?
