Truly bizarre.

It is, and one of those rare shots that really makes you think.

The most bizarre thing about it is the bird blenders in the background. Somehow people have been conned into believing that we can generate enough electricity with these horrors to take the place of fossil fuel-burning power plants even when the wind stops blowing. Then there are the monstrosities in the foreground. At least they're sitting here for the time being instead of being driven by inadequately trained drivers blocking the roads. Rob's right. This picture really makes you think.

Fine shot, by the way, Bob.

I hear that from 2019 Volvo will only introduce new electrical cars or, I think, variants that are hybrid. Ironic that the last car I bought was my first diesel.

I see two possibilities: Volvo, as the first to stake such a claim, will either corner the market or go bust. Exactly how all the electricity will be generated to replace gasoline and diesel is not explained.

Easy, Rob. They'll just build one of those humongous windmills on top of each car.
Might have to rebuild a few bridges that won't have room for them...  ;)

Electricity is clearly not the way forward for cars; we need to investigate better rubber bands. It worked for cotton reel tanks during the war. I built a few myself. The only problem was scaling and gearing: acceleration was far too high and mileage limited. With digital technology, that should now be a breeze to get right. I'm always too late with my copyright and patents.

Yes, all sources of energy other than fossil fuels are bad. Just as the solar panels I'll be installing on my next home, mainly for the purpose of (at least partial) energy independence, are an affront to "freedom & liberty." Calls into question who's actually being conned, and why.

Hold on, let me amend the above: All sources of energy from providers other than existing cartels and oligopolies are bad. There, that's better!

Great photo, though! Like a still from a modern noir film.

(To be clear, I'm no champion of bladed wind turbines. The bladeless variety will be an improvement provided the issues they currently have get resolved. We shall seeā€¦)
