Title: Modest Landscape

Hello!

I'm new to luminous-landscape, so let me introduce myself briefly, please: I'm into photography for 20-30 years now (depends on the calculation of photography-less times in my life) and enjoy a broad range of topics, I like to try a lot. As I grew up, lived and live in bigger cities, landscape photography is something that only for some years became more interesting for me. Basically I'm aware it's a topic that is still somewhat "unfamiliar" for me, as my daily sights are different. Additionally I got to drive  a lot for "great vistas", and mostly I don't have time for this, so I stick to rather "modest" landscapes which are easily accessible. This is one of my attempts.

Welcome.

I think one of the lessons I have learned is to make the most of what is close to me, turn it into something interesting. In this regard, I like your photo, it is a simple landscape, but the light and the elements are pleasant.

I agree with Paulo about making the most of where you are. I used to take only grand vista images and was always looking for more dramatic locations but over the last year have come to realise that good composition with "smaller" landscapes is easier and more satisfying when you get it right.
Advice 1 Work out what you think is the major focus of the image.
2 Move back and forth, left and right and up and down watching where the foreground and background moves in relation to your major focus and pick the position that places everything in as advantageous an arrangement as possible.

Agreed with everyone else.  I love to travel to some of the grand spots of course, but if I'm going to shoot very regularly at all, it has to be somewhere I can get to and from in a morning or afternoon.  Love the light you captured in this one.

Welcome to Lu-La.
IMO there's no such thing as an uninteresting or insignificant landscape. Just un-compelling fotos of them. I know this to be true. My hard-drive is full of them.
