I’m running the latest version of LR CC on an (aged) iMac. I’ve just noticed, when in the map module that connection to the internet is being briefly lost every time I scale the map or pan or switch from satellite to map views. A dark map of the earth is briefly shown on screen with a notice that internet connection is lost.
This connection loss, along with the dark world map view, only lasts a second or two and quickly returns to whichever map scale or map position I had changed to. A new oddity and strange behavior.
Has anyone else noticed this? Has anyone found a solution for the internet connection loss?

Also seeing this on LR 6.5 on Windows 7 on fibre broadband.
I doubt this is a real internet connection loss as such, but just an error message that something isn't being loaded quickly enough. Maybe Google Maps have changed somehow ?

I've also noticed this running version 6.8 (perpetual)
I find it mildly disturbing but the blackouts are pretty brief, so they're not a real problem for me.

This seems to be a recently-introduced problem. I wouldn't be surprised if it's related to the other screen-repainting issues Adobe has been experiencing lately with Lightroom.

I also have that happening here with 2015.10.1.. On the 5Ghz-band of a shared wireless connection to router, then wired from router -- usually at ~30Mbps.
Like Pegelli.. Disturbing, but brief. Normally less than a second here.

Somehow comforting that I’m not the only user experiencing this feature. I had feared it might be my mid 2010, i3 iMac, which I don’t want to exchange for a new model (yet). Still running fine albeit it won’t break any speed records.
I guess Adobe will fix this issue in one of their next updates.
Thanks for your comments!

Then we get to discover which new bug they introduce into functions that used to work. :-\
