Title: Any 7800 owners in NYC?
Post by: francoisroux on August 13, 2006, 11:16:43 am
Having a 2400 for my day to day printing needs I was wondering if I could find someone in New York City (I live in Manhattan) with an Epson 7800 to print one or two of my pictures.

I currently print with Photo Black on Luster (after 2 years of printing with ImagePrint on matte using a 2200). One of my panorama picture is printed at 11x36 at native resolution (360dpi), I would love to see the result on the 7800 at 20x65.

I really would like to give it a try before I make the jump to buying one. It would also be nice to meet someone with the same passion I have for photography.

Thank you in advance for your replies.

hi,  i'm not a 7800 owner but would suggest contacting epson for help.  i'm sure they'll lend an assistance to a potential buyer of 7800.

Francois,

I have an Epson 7800 and I live in the city.  What exactly are you looking to do?

Matt,

Thanks for your reply.

I am looking to print one of my pictures larger than I can do on my 2400. I am still not sure about whether to buy a 7800 or to wait for the next generation (probably in a year or so).

The picture is the Manhattan View from New Jersey (you can see it on my website in the New York section). The native size/resolution is 11x34 at 360dpi. I thought about printing it at about 17x52 (upsizing it in Photoshop and applying adequate sharpening). Or, I could print the Central Park panoramic view (trees and grass).

The goal would be to see the final quality of one of my pictures in this large format.

What kind of paper are you printing on? Lately, I print mostly on Luster paper (photo black).

Again, thank you very much for your reply.

Francois

Francois,

Like your website. The images are nice. I can print the image for you. Do you have an e-mail address so we can communicate directly??

Thanks
