Haven't actually seen one of these yet, but I came across an ad for it in an outdoor magazine. It's a combination walking staff, and, with a removable tip it becomes a monopod. The kicker is that it can open up a 3-legged base. Not as sturdy as a tripod by any means, but more stable than a monopod if need be. You can find more info here:
