Title: a glowing difference between xt20 and xt2 LCD's
Post by: bluekorn on May 03, 2017, 09:03:11 pm
I've been shopping the xt20 and the xt2 and had an opportunity to examine them in a camera store. Both were reset to factory specs and both were set up on standard film simulation with the same parameters. I found that the xt20 lcd appeared cool, much like my xt1, whereas the xt2 had a richer warmer appearance that to my eye was more fun to look at. Has anyone who updated in Fuji notice this difference? And if this is the case as it certainly appears to be to me, how can one look at the lcd to gather an expectation of the jpeg outcome?

I have both and think the xt 20 is the best camera I've ever come across.  The white balance can easily shift, and in warm light the colors in the viewfinder are pleasing.  Add some shadows and the images get noticeably cooler.  I think this is the case with both cams

It could have been a white balance difference but I would think that would have been the same on both the xt20 and the xt2 after factory resets in both cameras. I'll check when I can get back to the store. When I change the white balance on my xt1 to various settings I don't notice any temperature differences on the LCD. Shouldn't white balance differences be apparent on the live view?

So, One Frame At A Time, you are finding that you appreciate the xt20 over the xt2? That is encouraging as it's half the price.
