hi everyone. im thinking of getting this printed at about 6x25. i was just hoping for some of your thoughts on it and wondered if you think it would turn out well. i took a series of shots and stictched them together. i think it turned out quite well, but i need 'real' opinions. cheers!

Is the right side of the lake(?) cut off for a particular reason?

I think going to "the trouble" to take so many frames across the body of water and not get the final edge on right is a problem. I think beyond that the principal "elements" (sky and water) are so washed out and without any distinction of form. Becomes vast expanses of bland negative space. The positive space is the tree shore and the circular rocky shore line surrounding the lake - are just thin lines - and not that strong visually in and of themselves. Understandably this is taken in hot sunlight, no clouds, water is what it is - but the end result is not really that interesting. Maybe some contrast in the mountains, and bring exposure down etc. - but I don't think it's going to help this image in the end. Having it printed simply as a memoric sure. Btw, you didn't say feet or inches.

Other than for a documentary shot, perhaps you would consider something like this to focus the image on the stronger elements - cloud, mountain, trees.
You might even shorten the right side further.

I agree that including the right edge of the water might improve the image, but there may have been something unattractive or some other reason for omitting it.
In other respects, the balance of elements works for me.

Agree with Brandt.

Golly. There's some water there.

It reminds me of my early attempts at stitching. I was very pleased with the technique and amazed at how easy it was to get really large, detailed images. Then I realised they were really large, detailed images of nothing very much. You've managed to get it all in, but it's not an interesting photograph.

Interesting set of comments to an OP that posted this in August 2006 and hasn't been active on Lula since Sept. of the same year. Now that is a delayed reaction. :)

But of course... the uber-monotony of the image put everyone into coma for 11 years ;)
