Would you? Sony a7R II turned into a Contax a7R II

Yep, but I'd still buy a Contax mirrorless digital camera of that quality. Sony make TVs & DVD players. I just can't take them seriously as a camera marque, hoever good the product might be.

My friend doesn't buy Canon printers on the grounds that they make cameras. ;)

Cheers,
Bernard

I hope you did not buy an iPhone or Beats Headphones because Apple makes mac pro's, wait a second they abandoned us pro's. I guess I should not buy a mac pro because Apple only makes iPhones.

Sony make professional video equipment, among other things, and have done for decades.  It's a little silly ignoring them as a marque, particularly as they bought the heritage of Minolta (via Konica).

But to each their own, I suppose.

Indeed. Add to that the fact that they make the best sensors out there, plus the fact that they are partners with ZEISS, you end up with a powerful imaging cocktail:)

Quite, they're the standard that others are judged by. The major difference is that support for Sony Broadcast kit is pretty good. However their consumer product support here in the UK is dire beyond belief.

I wish there was a mirrorless Y/C mount Contax. I can use my Sony like that with an adapter, as in the pic (minus cosmetic mods), but it lacks auto aperture diaphragm control.

Am I reading a post from an adult allowed out on his own?

I really am tired of reading drivel like this.

Brand perception is an very long studied and legitimate phenomenon.

Feel free to go back to your crayons and those attempts to not colour outside the lines
