Does anyone know how meaningful the Kelvin values are in the White Balance tool? I've recently got my hands on a Sekonic color meter (C-700) so I set up a strobe pointing at a color checker passport. I've measured the light from the strobe with the color meter and it reported the light temperature being around 6100K. I then imported the image into C1 and set the white balance to that same number. The resulting image had a yellow cast. Using the WB picker on a neutral patch on the color checker set the white balance to around 5600K and the image looked neutral.
How do I make sense of this? 500K is a visible difference. My interest is mostly academic - nothing I shoot requires accurate colors, but I'd like to understand what's going on.
