Title: Moving folders into main folder .without messing things up
Post by: Pete JF on April 12, 2017, 01:24:26 pm
I have two folders in my laptop's hard drive..stuff i've downloaded when i didn't have my main Lightroom external with me

Fairly large folders with images that are already 'in' Lightroom..

I want to change their location to my main "Photographs" folder on the my Lightroom external (work disc)

What's the best way to handle this?

Drag and drop in Lightroom (I use the library module to do that). Should be easy and straight forward. Doing it in Lightroom makes sure the catalog is updated at the same time you do the move.

If the photos re already shown in Lr but you want to tell Lr to use copies in a different folder, right click the folder in Folders panel and choose Update Folder Location.
