Title: Filter Not Accurate
Post by: LeonD on April 01, 2017, 11:29:39 am
I'm having a problem with the filter in Lightroom 6.9.

I have almost 19,000 photos in a folder (with subfolders under it) in my catalog.  I also have a Smart Collection with just five star photos in it.  The Smart Collection shows five star 77 photos.  When I apply a filter to my main photos folder to display just five star photos, only fourteen show up.  Not the 77.

If I go into the five star Smart Collection, click on a photo that does not show up when I filter the large folder and select "Go to Folder in Library", the system brings me to that folder in the Library.

Now if I filter the large collection for five star photos again, the photo above is included by the filter.

It's almost like the filter isn't finding the five star attribute until I "touch" the photo.  Any idea why?

I found the correct answer.

I had a number of photos stacked.  Once I selected all my photos and expanded all stacks, the filter behaved as expected.
