Title: On Stagnant Pond
Post by: MattNQ on March 18, 2017, 10:52:15 pm
One reason I love B&W landscapes - Even a stagnant creek and concrete culverts can be made to look a bit pretty  :)

I love it. I'm a big fan of your IR(-like?) shots. Culverts and other man-made stuff are out of sight so this place looks like it's quiet and relaxing, aways from the civilisation…

Love the title.
I'm still not sure how it popped into my head. I've not heard heard anyone discuss/mention/allude to  'On Golden Pond'  for years  :)
Seemed like a perfect title to twist  :)

Thanks Francois

It is a small creek wedged between our hospital and one of the busy roads leading into the university. But down on the creek, you could be miles from anywhere.
The culvert even had some small bats living in there.

The culvert was a bit more obvious in the straight IR (below) so I added the soft flare in post.

Thank for the additional info. It's amazing how photography can make you believe you're away from civilisation!
